RULEMAKING HEARINGS
Solid and Hazardous Waste Rules Chapter 3 Docket 22-5102 SHWD proposed to revise Chapter 3 of the Solid Waste Rules (SWR) to remove redundant and irrelevant language, correct grammar, restructure passages for clarity, provide consistency with other chapters of the SWR, and format the rule to meet the Secretary of State requirements. In addition, the Wyoming Department Environmental Quality proposed updates to the permit terms, as well as the standards for location, design and construction, operating, monitoring, recordkeeping, reporting, closure and post-closure, and corrective action.
Water Quality Division Rules Chapter 12 Docket 22-3103 Water Quality Division (WQD) proposes to revise Water Quality Rules Chapter 12, Design and Construction Standards for Public Water Supplies. The proposed revisions incorporate specific sections of the Recommended Standards for Water Works, 2018 Edition by reference; add new paragraphs that require public water supplies that propose acidization to submit plans that describe existing wells in the proposed area, mitigation plans, local geology, and placement and integrity of the annular seal and casing of the well so that the WQD may ensure the acidization activities do not negatively impact underground sources of drinking water that are in the vicinity of the proposed activities; add requirements for treatment technologies, including ultraviolet and membrane technologies; correct outdated references, formatting, numbering, and grammar errors; remove requirements that are not within the statutory authority of the WQD; reorganize passages to clarify requirements; and add a new section that identifies the information incorporated by reference, in accordance with W.S. ยง 16-3-103(h).
